Common of many Confessors

Office.

Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness: and let thy saints sing with joyfulness.3

In Easter-tide, Alleluya, alleluya, alleluya.

Ps. Lord, remember David: and all his trouble.4

Collect.

Defend us, we beseech thee, O Lord, by the protection of thy blessed confessors N. and N., that by the intercession of those whose feast we devoutly celebrate year by year, we may be delivered from all adversities. Through etc.

Another Collect.

O God, who dost compass and protect us by the glorious confessions of thy holy confessors N. and N., grant unto us that we may both profit by their example, and also rejoice in their intercession. Through etc.

Epistle.   Heb. vii. 23–27.

And they truly . . . offered up himself.

Gradual.

Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness: and let thy saints sing with joyfulness.1

V. There shall I make the horn of David to flourish: I have ordained a lantern for mine anointed.2

Alleluya.   V. The righteous shall shine, and run to and fro like sparks among the stubble.3

No Sequence is said, even though it be a feast of nine lessons.

Secret.

Be present, O Lord, be present with the prayers and gifts of thy people; that through the intercession of the saints, the oblations in these holy mysteries may be pleasing in thy sight. Through etc.

Communion.1

I have chosen you out of the world, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain.2

In Easter-tide, Alleluya, alleluya.

Postcommunion.

Let thy faithful people, O Lord, be refreshed with the healing of thy heavenly gift; and through the prayers of thy holy confessors, we beseech thee that they may be cleansed from all their sins. Through etc.
