The controlling witness for this project
Daniel Berkeley Updike and the Merrymount Press produced the Standard Book completed in 1930: the edition against which other printings of the American 1928 Book of Common Prayer were to be compared.
This section brings the Society of Archbishop Justus facsimile and electronic transcription into the house style of 1928commonprayer.org. The facsimile is preserved unchanged. The HTML remains a working transcription until each section has been collated against the Standard Book and independent certified print witnesses.

Provenance
What has—and has not—been verified
The facsimile offered here is an unchanged copy of the Society of Archbishop Justus rendering of the 1930 Standard Book. That source file omits preliminary pages vii–xxxvi; its principal Prayer Book text is present. The omitted material and available comparison witnesses are documented in the collation notes. The local file is byte-for-byte identical to the Justus file retrieved on 26 August 2026; its SHA-256 checksum is ee7ea56fb53c44bdf6acb328ec74a85ae2aa493143be4314cacf059465abd6a5.
The HTML pages are working transcriptions prepared for reading and study. They were mechanically rewrapped from the Justus transcription, with links and small rubric images localized where available. Where exact wording, punctuation, pagination, rubrics or readings matter, consult the linked facsimile. The complete source record is maintained with the repository.
The AOC/Satucket edition presents the 1928 Prayer Book text with the official 1945 Psalms and Lessons for the Christian Year. It is not a facsimile of the 1930 Standard Book, but represents the form in which the Prayer Book was subsequently printed and used.
