Common of a Martyr
At Mass. 1. Office.
The righteous shall flourish like a palm-tree, and shall spread abroad like a cedar in Libanus. Such as are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of the house of our God.4
Ps. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord: and to sing praises unto thy name, O most highest.5

The righteous shall not be cast away, for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed; they are preserved for ever.1
Ps. Fret not thyself because of the ungodly: neither be thou envious against the evil doers.2

Thou hast crowned him with glory and worship; and thou makest him to have dominion of the works of thy hands.3

May we who keep their feast be counted meet

We beseech thee, O Lord, to look with loving-kindness upon the gifts now presented unto thee; that the blessing of the Holy Ghost may be poured forth upon them, so that they may more powerfully infuse into our hearts that love through which thy holy martyr N. overcame all bodily tortures. Through etc.

We beseech thee, O Lord, mercifully to absolve from all their sins those whom thou hast refreshed with this heavenly mystery; and by the intercession of thy blessed martyr N. grant that our hearts may be purified, and that we may have full fruition of thy divine gift. Through etc.
